Crowdsourcing my news

Written by Alcides Fonseca at 2008/01/14

Well, kind of… I’m sure a lot of you, just like me, have a lot of feeds subscribed and there are just too many “junk” posts there!

Some time ago I decided I had to change it and I unsubribed lifehacker, techcrunch and all that mainstream blogs. And I started to subscribe ALL the blogs I visited and liked the post I was reading. I even accepted a batch of google suggestions. All from unknown bloggers, most of them even technical. Today I am really happy with that choice. Even if there is a good post in one of those mainstream blogs, I will know it because someone will link it! There are still some uninteresting posts, but its not as painful as it was before.

Now I just have to handle the Portuguese “junk” posts from national planets. Maybe I’ll do my own selection and publish the opml since I know I’m not the only one having this issue.
